The various departments and sections of DARUL - ULOOM are as follows:
DEENIYAT SECTION
A teacher is engaged to educate the small children of the teachers and staff of the Madressa residing in the campus. Barring Friday and vacation he daily teaches them for 3 hours. Subjects like Nazra Khwani, proper recitation of the Holly Quran, distinguishing letters writing, Kitab Khwani, Urdu dictation, religious beliefs character building, Islamic culture, how to perform Namaz , Duas and other primary masail.
MEMORIZATION OF HOLLY QUARAN
A student is taught TAJWID and how to recite the Quran-e-sharif correctly. No time limit is fixed for this purpose. Thus, students learn it by heart in accordance with the capacity and aptitude they possess. Generally an average student memorises the Quran in 3 years. The students of this section are supposed to get up an hour before namaz-e-fajar and are absorbed in memorizing. Several teachers are connected with this section. This section was introduced from the initial stages of this Madressa.
TEACHING HADITH
During the last three centuries, hadeeth was not at all taught regularly and systematically in Bharuch and its districts, Knowledgeable persons were eagerly awaiting the end of this sterile period and expecting the greenery of spring to take over afresh, the barren garden of Maulana Mohammed Ishaq, the great traditionist of Bharuch. Thanks to Allah (Ta), the count down at last began the auspicious dawn spilt apart the darkness. The lessons on grand and authentic works of Hadeeth entitiled Miskatul Masabit consisting of selections from the SIHA SITTA (SIX MOST AUTHENTIC AHADITH BOOKS) began in 1393 AH i.e. 1973 AD. May ALLAH be exalted that a teacher of structure of Hazarat Maulana Mohd Abul Hasan Ali Sahab of Bhagalpur, (May he live long) a scholar from Deoband, was associated with it and the lucky students, 12 in number were from Palanpur.
INTRODUCTION OF DAURA-E-HADITH : (Final Year)
In the next academic year, DAURA-E-HADITH was introduced, Now Bukhari, Muslim and Tirmizi were brought under curricular and celebrated teachers like Maulana Mohammed Abul Hasan, (may he live long) Maulana Abdul Hannan Sahab Balasathvi, (may he live long), Maulana Ibrahim Sahab of Pattan, all graduates from Deoband, are associated with it.
TAJWEED
It is compulsory for every student to learn and recite the Quran for one hour daily in accordance with the Rivayat of IMMAM-E-HAFS (R.A.) in the primary classes upto standard IV. Here Urdu, Arabic the curricular of HAFS is taught and completed along with the TARTIL, TADWIR and HADR. On their success in std. IV, the students are entitled to the certificate of HAFS which is given to them on their completion of Dauraei-Hadeeth together with the certificate of excellence. This section works from the day the Madressa was founded.
SPECIALISATION IN SEVEN TYPES OF QIRAT
The Madressa also makes arrangements to teach qirat-e-SABA & ASHARA in the following three classes upto VII, but it is vouluntary. Some interested students and some graduates from other madaris avail this facility. QIRAT -E-SABA was introduced in 1403 AH i.e. 1983 AD and QIRAT-E- ASHRA in SHAWWAL 1406 AH i.e. 1986 AD.
TADRIBUL IFRA SECTION
A group of highly competent and talented students whose number is not allowed to exceed eight is encouraged to practice the drafting of FATWA’S in accordance with HANAFI School of thought. They are taught to refer to and study exhaustively the source books of FIQH collection of prevelant FATWA. The duration of the course is one year. Scholarships are also given to each student. This section was introduced and regularized in 1399 AH i.e. 1979 AD.
DARUL IFTA
FATWAS are issued in this section on the basis of the question received from Nation and Overseas and articles are compiled on these questions. Thus, this section provides an opportunity for regular training to those students who seek specialization in this branch of knowledge and provides guidance to general Muslims on their personal and social problems in the light of ISLAM.
ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
English, like Arabic and French, is considered one of the international languages. The British Govt. has left an indelible mark as a result of its rule that lasted for hundred years, on the society, which is too perceptible in India to be missed, specially in South India. Comparatively speaking, commercial and trade relations of the natures of Gujarat with English speaking countries and European countries are far more stronger, besides necessity to communicate and propagate ISLAM requires one to learn English. The importance of English according to this MADRESSA can hardly be over emphasized. Therefore, English is compulsory for every student from primary to Arabic std. III for one hour daily. English is taught upto S.S.C level here.
CALLIGRAPHY – IMPROVING HANDWRITING
In this section, two classes of Persian and two primary classes of Arabic, compulsorily practice for a period of one hour daily to improve their hand writing and spelling (IMLA). Hence, not only the handwriting improves but the students get rid of the habit of scribbling, scratching and over-writing. If a student develops taste for calligraphy in this four years, he is encouraged to learn calligraphy as an art completely, during extra hours to enable him to earn a livelihood honorably through it. The section started from 1410 AH i.e. 1990 AD.
TECHNICAL EDUCATION
In order to earn livelihood through lawful means and lead an honorable life, the students are encouraged to learn, in extra hours, tailoring, embroidery, typing, driving and computers etc. in the Madressa. This provision is related with the classes. Driving is taught to the students of DARUL-HADITH, computer to the students of Std VI, Arabic/embroidery and typing to Std V, Arabic and tailoring to Std IV. A satisfied and self-relevant student can spare himself more devotedly for the cause of ISLAM.
